The College of Human Environmental Sciences offers several Master of Science degree programs and PhD in Human Environmental Sciences: The Department of Design, Housing and Merchandising offers a resident Master of Science degree, an online Master of Science degree with emphasis in merchandising, and a PhD in human environmental sciences with a specialization in design, housing, and merchandising. The programs are scientifically based and research and/or design oriented. Graduate degrees in the department are tailored to departmental areas of expertise and the professional goals of the graduate student. Graduate programs focus on either merchandising or design. The Department of Human Development and Family Science offers a Master of Science degree, an online Master of Science degree with emphasis in gerontology, and a PhD in human environmental sciences with a specialization in human development and family science. Graduate study in HDFS emphasizes the integration of theory, research and application to address key issues in individual and relationship competence.
